Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a natural component of your blood that is rich in platelets and growth-factors.

When injected into the skin, the body uses its own healing capabilities to stimulate cell growth, collagen production and tissue regeneration. This causes the skin to look renewed and refreshed, and causes a decrease in fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring and sun damage.

How does treatment work?

Blood is drawn from your arm and run through a centrifuge to separate the platelets from the whole blood and then mixed with natural fillers. The highly concentrated gel-like solution is then injected directly into skin and soft tissue areas. The 30 growth factors released by the PRP go directly to work where they’ve been inserted, locally stimulating healing and skin rejuvenation and producing a brighter, more improved appearance.

What are the benefits of PRP?

PRP has long been used to promote wound healing, as well as, promote cell turnover in the skin and rejuvenation by stimulating collagen production. When injected into the skin, the benefits include:

  • Improvement of skin tone and texture

  • Promote elasticity

  • Smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles

  • Thickening of the skin

  • Reduction in inflammation

PRP injections also work well in conjunction with many other cosmetic treatments, including: botox and filler, laser treatments and microneedling.

Is there any downtime needed after treatment?

No, there is no downtime after a PRP injection. You may feel numb at the injection site for up to an hour, but there are no restrictions and you can go back to your regular schedule immediately afterward.

How long does it take to see results?

You may see results right away, but PRP therapy continues to provide rejuvenation for up to three months after the initial injection.

It is recommended to have 3 PRP injections within an 18 month period to ensure tissue is fully restored.
