Dana Shanis, MD ,FACOG
Dr. Shanis is a Board-Certified Ob/Gyn, collaborating writer with the National Institutes of Health, and owner of The Shanis Pelvic Institute. Previously, she was the medical director of Ob/Gyn at Rittenhouse Women’s Wellness Center and a physician at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Shanis received her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine and completed her Ob/Gyn residency at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. She attended fellowship at the National Institutes of Health, where she studied the gynecologic care of cancer survivors and other medically-complicated women. Since fellowship, Dr. Shanis has remained involved in her research, publishing articles and presenting at meetings and conferences across the country. In 2011, she was honored with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Cervical Cancer Prevention Award for her work with cancer survivors. Over her years of practice, she has been recognized by several organizations for her compassionate care of patients.
